Why Is the Loop Located Near the Collar?
The location is important.
The loop is placed high on the back because that allows the shirt to hang relatively evenly.
If the loop were placed near the waist, the shirt would hang awkwardly.
The collar area is also structurally strong because several seams meet around the upper back and neckline.
When the shirt is hanging, the weight is distributed through this part of the garment.
