Dad’s Strange Tool Finally Made Sense

For years, the unusual metal tool sat untouched in a drawer. His father had handed it to him when he was younger with only one explanation: “You’ll understand when you need it.” The strange shape, hollow handle, and sharp-looking internal mechanism offered few clues, and every time he asked what it was, his father simply smiled.
